Psycho Frame

Litho Packaging Print of the Year at the Irish Print Awards 2026

A metal band with a dark, atmospheric identity needed vinyl packaging that could match it. Anglo Printers delivered a collector-grade sleeve that pushes commercial print finishing to its limits, as recognised by taking the title in the Irish Print Awards.

The Job

3mm gatefold sleeve at 315 × 312mm, produced on 340gsm leather-effect board, chosen for its raw, tactile character and uncoated surface complexity.

Print & Embellishment

Outer sleeve printed 4 colour litho, with red and silver foils applied to key design elements and the band logo to create sharp contrast and visual punch. Embossing introduced layered depth across the artwork, with careful control to preserve the integrity of the leather effect surface and avoid any crushing of the stock. A matt seal finish completes the piece, protecting the board while staying faithful to the dark, understated aesthetic of the design.

The Detail That Sets It Apart

The defining feature of this project is a precision engineered veiled effect. The printed outer sleeve, inserted Oband, and inner gatefold were designed to resolve into a single composite image but only when all three components align in exact register. Delivering that outcome required millimetre level tolerances across every die-cut, score, and fold, with tight control maintained throughout print, finishing, and assembly to ensure absolute consistency across the run.

The Result

A vinyl package that demonstrates technical control at every stage, functioning as both protective format and crafted artefact. Tactile, engineered, and genuinely collectible, it reflects a level of production accuracy that few suppliers are equipped to deliver.
