Louth GAA Junior Championship 2019 finalists - What makes this years captains tick?


The final of the Louth GAA Anglo Printers Junior Championship takes place this weekend with two great teams contesting, Glyde Rangers and Roche Emmets. We decided to ask the team captains Céin Sheridan, Glyde Rangers and Liam Dawe, Roche Emmets a few questions to find out what makes them tick. The final takes place in Clann na Gael, Dundalk at 3.30pm on Sunday 29th September. We would like to wish both teams the best of luck on Sunday!

What was your most challenging moment in 2019 Louth GAA JFC knockouts?
Na Piarsaigh in the Semi-final.

Who is your toughest opponent?
Na Piarsaigh.

What is your ambition for the future?
Get promoted to Senior again.

Pre Match Meal?
Chicken and Pasta.

Best things about the GAA?
Whole family aspect, the camaraderie, playing with friends.

Thoughts on the final?
Third time lucky.

Biggest influence on your life?
Family

Advice for young players?
Don't be listening to older folks on the sidelines, do your own thing, it usually works out.

Best game you've ever seen?
All Ireland final this year - first game.

Best game ever play'ed in?
Hopefully this year's final.

Favourite pitch?
Haggardstown

Best advice someone has ever given you?
Look after yourself. Put yourself first.

What was your most challenging moment in 2019 Louth GAA JFC knockouts?
Last ten minutes of Lannléire match in the semi-final.

Who is your toughest opponent?
Tommy Durnin, Westerns.

What is your ambition for the future?
Keep playing football for Roche for as long as possible and have the club back in Senior in the near future.

Pre-Match Meal?
Chicken and Pasta.

Most important skill?
Kicking.

Best things about the GAA?
Friends and family.

Thoughts on the final?
Glyde will be hard bet. We have a good group of players and we'll give it a good go. Play for 60 minutes and see where it takes us. Have no regrets.

Biggest influence on your life?
My grandfather

Advice for young players?
Always play with a smile on your face, make sure to always enjoy it.

Best game you've ever seen?
Dublin V Kerry semi-final 2013.

Best game ever played in?
This year's semi-finals, the two games against Lannléire.

Pairc De Roiste

Favourite song?
Dance Monkey

Best advice someone has ever given you?
Always enjoy it, don't take anything for granted.
