Project Green Machine

At Anglo Printers Ltd. we believe in climate action, not talk!

We have spent the last 18 months meticulously planning our most significant environmental project ever – ‘Project Green Machine’ and today we unveil the installation of over 610 Solar Panels at our Print Production Facility here in Drogheda, at the Gateway to the beautiful Boyne Valley.

At the outset we conducted an Energy Audit with the support of Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and since then we have worked tirelessly to implement the recommendations. We have delivered energy reductions throughout the plant and offices by converting to LED lighting, and working with our team to turn off lights, plant & machinery, computers, and monitors when not in use. The key recommendation was to install Solar Panels on our sunlight laden roof.

Working with our neighbour & fellow #drogheda business lennon solar we are now up and running & reducing our grid intake by up to 30%.

We aim to reduce our annual electricity use from the grid by 247.3 Mwh (megawatt hours) which is the equivalent to the annual consumption in 42 homes. The ROI is expected to take 2.1 years all going well and the infrastructure has a system lifespan of 25 to 30 years. The C02 eliminated for Anglo Printers is 116.2 tons per annum.

We would like to thank Bernard Lennon and his team for a fantastic job.
