At Anglo Printers, providing environmentally friendly and sustainable print is a fundamental pillar of our commercial offering. It’s easy to talk about it, but at Anglo Printers we put those words into action when we became Ireland’s first Carbon Balanced Printer, certified by The World Land Trust. Every year we calculate our annual carbon impact through our operations and offset them with the World Land Trust. We can also Carbon Balance the paper used on any job, offering a job specific CB Certificate outlining the CO2 which has been balanced and the sq. metre contribution which has been made to the World Land Trust’s conservation work of threatened habitats. The World Land Trust has been instrumental in the purchase and protection of more than 2,800,000 acres of land and we are proud to support their incredible work.
Our overall Environmental objective is to continue to provide print solutions in response to our client’s requirements using the most efficient and innovative print technologies available and in a manner that minimises the effect that our business has on the environment. One significant way in which we have minimised our environmental impact is through the roll out of ‘Project Green Machine’ – the installation of more than 600 Solar Panels across the roof of our entire facility. This clean, green energy powers the latest and greatest in printing press technology, while also giving green electricity back to the grid. This Solar project coupled with the installation of LED lighting throughout all offices and the production facility, will enable us to reduce our energy use from the grid by 30% per annum, while generating a whopping 247 Mwh (Mega Watt Hours) from the sun.
Anglo Printers is fully committed to managing our operations to the highest possible standards, in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems Standard, thus ensuring that our activities do not adversely affect the environment. Hand-in-hand with our environmental management system, Anglo Printers also operates in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, the Quality Management Systems Standard. We are focused on our impact on the environment and are one of just a few Irish print companies certified by both the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council® - FSC® C125613) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). These certifications mean that our customers can trust that the materials used to create their products comes from sustainable sources which do not threaten the habitats of endangered species.
